Ever since Miike Snow released “Animal” as a single, I was hooked but I was pleasantly shocked to hear that most of their material was deeply embedded in electronic beats. That is not a bad thing. The song made my Top Songs of 2009 list and they always seem to put on a good show live. I got the chance to see them at Sasquatch last week but they were in such high demand in LA that they had to add another show here this week. People can’t get enough of this trio and who can blame them when Swedish duo Bloodshy & Avant is responsible for Britney Spear’s “Toxic” and countless other hits by Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Kelis and more. Teaming up with the producing twosome was the best decision singer-songwriter Andrew Wyatt ever made.
Last week, I posted their new song, “The Rabbit,” which pops up on their re-released debut album in deluxe edition format. As I noted, it still has those signature grimy beats from them but holy crap, I have no words for the video that goes along with it. Okay… maybe I do. If you thought Foals‘ video for “Miami” was revealing, the amount of jiggling booties along with the full bearded young boy in this clip will either make you feel lost or mesmerized. A 2 Live Crew record makes an appearance and I’m pretty sure this video would even make the hip-hop group proud.

They are growing on me. I absolutely love “Silvia”. Not so sure on “Animal” yet, but I’ll have to give their other songs a listen too.
