Another band I got to see for the first time live at Sasquatch was New York-based band, Phantogram. After noticing how gorgeous both members were, I immediately found myself digging their diverse sounds of trip-hop, indie pop, and electronica. Using only a keyboard and guitar, the two managed to rock out more than some of the artists I’ve seen lately and it’s no wonder that they’ve opened up for acts such as Zero 7, Minus the Bear, Ra Ra Riot, Yeasayer, and Brazilian Girls. Their pop is mysterious enough and their beats are rough enough to even give off an R&B vibe that is legit.
Their album, Eyelid Movies, is currently out via Barsuk Records. Take a listen to “When I’m Small” and a remix of “Mouthful of Diamonds” by Alan Wilkis (a remix artist who is quicky becoming one of my favorites) below!
