Dent May: That Feeling

Okay, so I may have been wrong about “All Summer” being the summer jam because Dent May has definitely offered up the most light-hearted tune for the season with “That Feeling.” (Besides, when Bethany’s chorus comes in during “All Summer,” the chimes remind me of Christmas.) We all know how much I love a man with a ukulele. However, while Jens Lekman tends to make the most of melodrama in his arrangements, Mississippi-based artist, Dent May, knows how to simplify a song without watering cleverness down. Think modern Beach Boys that actually works.

“That Feeling” will be available as a 7″ record in August which will have the track, “Eastover Wives,” as a b-side and it will be released through Forest Family Records – the label which Gorilla vs. Bear and Weekly Tape Deck put their heart and soul into. Dent May’s upcoming album will include both tracks and will be released on Animal Collective‘s label, Paw Tracks.

Take a listen to “That Feeling” below. It’s the perfect soundtrack to crashing waves at the beach. Does anyone else smell a Corona Light commercial in the future?
