Kissed Her Little Sister: Cocaine

For the past two weeks, my brain has been falling apart as I’ve been trying to figure out what Jeffrey Morisano aka Kissed Her Little Sister has just offered to the world. His album, High and Low, provides 15 tracks that are so unbelievable that I’m completely dumbfounded to know that Morisano has created it all in his Santa Monica-based bedroom! The album boasts a diverse amount of genres that range from folk to hip hop to electronica to lo-fi and if you can believe it or not, 80s music.

This is an album that sounds much more than just two hands and someone’s vocal chords. Morisano has taken Kissed Her Little Sister out of any type of obscurity by releasing High and Low as a free download over at Bandcamp. There are songs such as “Cocaine” which samples Johnny Cash’s “Cocaine Blues” and slyly injects Inspector Gadget’s theme song in to the midst of Pink Floyd’s “The Happiest Days of Our Lives.” You may be asking yourself, ‘What the hell am I listening to?” but you’ll also feel the need to hear more.

However, as ingenious as this collection of songs may be, the off beat qualities of converging certain elements that dart in and out of strange subject matters – such as Ben Franklin in the shower –  oddly, make it more appealing. I’ve included the tracks “Cocaine’ and “Born Again” after the jump for you. They couldn’t differ more from each other but it should be a good taste of all peaks Kissed Her Little Sister have successfully reached on the album.

  1. YEAHHHH This is tha jam.

Both tracks are good but for different reasons!
I love the first one as a dark ballad with irresistible groove, the Pink Floyd sample is perfect. I think it’s PF?

The second one is just a dope song. It’s beautiful. Dude needs to go on tour
