Local Natives are still on a roll in regards to success in the music industry. They’re a band I’ll never get tired writing about because their work ethic comes with a strong consistency. A while back I posted a Russian Adults remix of their song, “Sun Hands,” which is also featured on the latest Wild Tonic mixtape and they, too, have now embraced remix renditions of their songs.
If you’re a DJ who is interested in remixing one of their songs, you can grab the stems on their website and if they like it they’ll gladly post it on their website for everyone to hear. Notable ones that have surfaced through that endeavor are remixes by Suckers, Superhumanoids and Teen Daze. However, Teen Daze’s new remix is the one I have been enjoying the most lately.
Teen Daze, a mysterious artist from Vancouver (mostly due to the lack of info on any member), have slowly been making a name for himself with his own songs of hazy summer goodness. Their remix of Local Natives’ “Wide Eyes” (a song which was featured in May’s mixtape) is a must-listen as it does a great job of draping a laid-back but danceable skin over the organic rhythms we know so well. Check it out below and let me know if you also hear a little Chris Brown-Forever-beat hidden in there, too.
