As if we needed another reminder of how Canadians are taking over the world with their superb songwriting, Tokyo Police Club are back with another album titled Champ via Mom + Pop (who just recently signed Sleigh Bells as well). Although mostly known for their twitchy pop hook-oriented hit, “Your English Is Good,” their current single “Breakneck Speed” surprisingly has that “Let’s look back and reminisce and realize all the wisdom we’ve gained” tone. The track is a bit more somber as well as mature but is also titled with a very misleading name.

The music video for it also shows nothing slightly resembling a ruckus or bad behavior but is a montage of “this is what we do on tour” clips instead. Every band has at least one of these videos at some point in their career. I’m just surprised boys of Tokyo Police Club have already arrived at this moment. Nonetheless, videos like this always make the band come off endearing and I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the new album. Check the video out below and grab the track below as well!
