I got my first taste of The Wailing Wall (a band led by Jessie Rifkin) when they opened up at Avi Buffalo‘s record release show back in the beginning of May. Although a very full band now, Rifkin is obviously the talented mastermind behind all the heartfelt songwriting. His vocals alone pierce the heart and if you’ve ever felt that way about them on record, his passionate singing is the only thing you can listen to when he opens his mouth on stage.

Rifkin just released his album, The Low Hanging Fruit, under the moniker The Wailing Wall and to promote it ahead of time he also released a cover of Tim Buckley’s cover of “Song to the Siren.” Watch out for this artist. There’s some major substance going on here.
