People love them for their remix of HEALTH‘s “Crimewave,” but Crystal Castles has been capturing people’s interest with their live shows way before that. Although the duo’s sound on record translates poorly into a live performance, it is more than made up for with their vocalist. Alice Glass has an amazing stage presence that can command fans to do anything she wishes. (She often just steps out onto the audience without any concerns.)
They’re recently announced an new and upcoming album which is slated for release on June 8th in the US. The extremely odd part of this news is that their sophomore effort will ALSO be titled Crystal Castles. Not confusing… At all…
The first single from the second self-titled album is “Celestica” which has a lot more melody than I’m used to getting from the duo. They’ve also pre-released the track, “Doe Deer,” which was in anticipation for their exclusive Record Store Day release. Take a listen below!
