
Liars was the first band I ever wrote about when it came to being published in an LA music publication. This was a band who certainly expanded my musical palate when it came to my rather naive music boundaries back in the day. After a few listens to their self-titled album, then going back to Drum’s Not Dead, I was enticed by their unique combination of surprising elements. Not only do they switch it up every album but even the drastic tempo changes within a song give me a thrill.
Their new song, “Scissor,” is a prime example with haunting choruses and abrupt thrashing that gives the listener a delightful rush. The track is off an upcoming album titled Sisterworld which is slated for release via Mute Records in early 2010. Can’t wait!
